Graduation 2023
This year, four students graduated from the Mitrata program and joined 52 former graduates in the role of Mitrata alumni. The 2023 Mitrata/BSF Graduation Ceremony was an entire day filled to the brim with pride in the success of our students!
Spending Time with the Programs
While at the Contact Center, the team enjoyed playing with the children, meeting new Contact Center staff, watching them perform many dances and songs, and sitting down to a delicious and nutritious lunch. After spending a busy morning at the Contact Center, the team left the children to their studies and went to visit the Vibhuti Vidhya Mandir School.
A First Meeting for Some, a Reunion for Others
After much anticipation, Mitrata’s Child Sponsors and their sponsored children are able to sit across from one another and fellowship though conversation and a meal. For some, this dinner is a first meeting, taking place after many years of letter writing back and forth. For others, it is the warmest of reunions. No matter the individual circumstances, it is a time of joy for all!

Follow Our Team in Nepal!
Our fall Sponsor Trip to Nepal begins on Friday, September 28, 2023! This year, our team is a diverse group of Mitrata staff, board members, child sponsors, and two members of our Young Professionals Board! A few individuals have traveled to Nepal in the past, but for many, it will be their very first time! We hope you will take the time to follow our journey.
What does it mean to be a Contact Center Sponsor?
Sponsoring the Contact Center looks different than our child sponsorship program. Most notably, it is a flexible sponsorship option, while still enabling the sponsor to make a difference in the lives of children halfway around the world.
Why Miles for Mitrata Kids?
Outside of Contact Center sponsorships, Miles for Mitrata Kids fully funds the Contact Center! We have currently raised 69% our fundraising goal, but only have 56% of our goal participants. We would be unable to operate the Contact Center without our dedicated Contact Center sponsors, and the participants and donors of Miles for Mitrata Kids. Would you consider being a participant or donor?
Trips Created to Encourage Discovery, Exploration, & Adventure
Thanks to YOUR generosity during the Fund-A-Need Auction at Trivia Night 2023, three groups of our children were able to attend Discovery Field Trips that were filled with sightseeing, learning, and hiking!
A Fulfilling Request
“We currently have a higher than typical number of new children entering the program and needing support. If you have ever considered becoming a sponsor, now is a great time to learn more about sponsorship!” A message on sponsorship from Danny Williger, the Chair of Mitrata’s Sponsorship Committee.
