Mitrata is committed to keeping overhead costs in the USA as low as possible. We work virtually as much as possible, do not pay for an office space and run our USA operations on one full-time and two part-time staff members. Our Executive Director is a volunteer. Our dedicated board members and volunteers are thus integral to our success in supporting our programs. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in our USA operations, and they truly make a difference. Are you passionate about our mission, interested in lending a hand at one of our many fundraising events or do you have other skills that could help out our organization? Write Letters to Our Children

Children and sponsors correspond twice per year. Not all of our child sponsors are able to write letters to their children, which means that some of our children may not receive a correspondence. We feel all children need regular correspondence from us, and we do not want any child to feel left out. You can help by signing up to work with our Sponsorship Committee and write general letters of encouragement.

Help Us With Our Fundraising Events

Do you like to help with parties and events? Are you crafty or do you like working with people? Our events are budget conscious to insure that as much money as possible goes directly to our programs in Nepal. We are able to succeed because we have dedicated people who volunteer to help us out. We can always use extra pairs of hands to set up, break down, handle money, decorate and organize auction and bazaar items for our Holiday Bazaar in December and Trivia Night in April fundraisers. Help us Photograph and Video our Work

Do you have a passion for the art of photography and videography? We always need photographers to help us document our events and other community interactions! Sign up to let us know of your interest and help us build out our media portfolio.

Help Us Increase Our Social Media Presence

Do you regularly post, tweet and upload? If so, we could use your help to get the word out about our programs. We have a bounty of information to share, but a limited number of people who can post content and build our social media accounts. Sign up to act as one of our social media content drivers.

We are very fortunate to have a strong, capable and dedicated Board of Directors. Many of our board members have worked with Mitrata since the early years!
