Travel to Nepal with us in 2025

We are excited to be hosting our Sponsor Trip to Nepal from October 31 - November 17, 2025.

Most of the trip focuses on our Mitrata-supported programs, including spending time with the children in various settings, visiting our Contact Centers, engaging with our partner NGO, Bhuvaneshwori Satyal Foundation, and learning about life in Nepal. We will attend the Mitrata-BSF Graduation Ceremony, which is a favorite event of many former trip participants. Sponsors will have the opportunity to spend time with their sponsored child. And, in the midst of all these wonderful events, we also leave time for free exploration, and shopping for beautiful souvenirs from Nepal!

In 2025, we are offering two options for our side trip outside of the Kathmandu Valley.

In the first option, we will fly roundtrip from Kathmandu to Pokhara to explore the resort town, monastery, and Mountain Museum, enjoy Phewa Lake, take day hikes, and overnight at a resort in the mountains.

The second option we will also travel to Pokhara, but then head out of town on a 4-day trek in the Annapurna mountains near Pokhara. We currently plan to do the same trek as last year, called the Panchase Trek. It was enjoyed by all who trekked last year!

More Details:

The trip dates include travel time to and from the United States. Outside of travel, the itinerary consists of 14 nights in Nepal. We will stay in moderately priced Nepali hotels in Kathmandu and in Pokhara. Lodging for those who participate in the Panchase trek will be more rustic, but you can expect beds and bathrooms every night! No need to worry about tents or camping.

Cost of the trip per person for single room lodging is $3000 USD; for shared room is $2800 USD. This cost covers hotels with breakfast, domestic flights, admission to cultural sites, air conditioned van transportation, and guides. Other meals, taxis, tips, and souvenirs are not included and are usually paid for in Nepali rupees. The current exchange rate for rupees to dollars is 130 RS = 1 USD.

Note that your airline cost is separate from the trip cost. Air travel costs vary from year to year, and an economy roundtrip ticket to Kathmandu typically averages around $2,500 per person. Usually fares increase as the trip dates approach, so registering sooner may help to keep your costs lower.

We strive to help make you as comfortable as possible leading up to the trip, as well as for the duration of the trip. We will set up several dates for meetings in person or remotely (for those out of town) prior to the trip, so we can address any questions or concerns. These meetings also enable the trip attendees time to get acquainted. This is a very convenient time to discuss the trip itinerary, how to pack, and what to expect as a group. We will go over a detailed agenda and address any questions to ensure safe and fun travel.
