An Adventurous Excursion
A group of four adventurous Mitrata trip participants spent four days trekking in the “hills” around Phewa Lake in Pokhara, Nepal, with the opportunity to view sunrise in the Annapurna range of the Himalayan mountains from Panchase Peak.
The trek boasted some incredible views of the Annapurnas, Lamjung, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) and three peaks over 8,000m: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manalsu, in the distance. Along the way, the trekkers passed through many villages and stayed in tea houses that offered them a different perspective of life in Nepal distinct from that of the city.
They also had the chance to cross Phewa Lake by boat, visit the World Peace Pagoda (also known as the Pokhara Shanti Stupa), and see the Pumdikot Shiva Statue, the second tallest statue of Shiva in Nepal.
The group was accompanied by an exceptional Nepali guide and porters. They were very knowledgeable, kind, and supportive, and our group enjoyed spending time with them immensely.
