We Are Family

Numerous organizations provide financial support to those in need, but what is unique about Mitrata Nepal Foundation for Children is that it also promotes relationship.  The importance of these relationships was evident at the recent new sponsor dinner held at the Himalayan Hut restaurant last Sunday night in St. Louis where we enjoyed samosas, momos, good conversation and laughter.

The purpose of the dinner was to welcome the new sponsors who have joined the Mitrata family within the last couple of years.  There was no formal program, but just a chance for the sponsors to connect with each other and to meet some of the board members in a small group setting.  New sponsors in attendance were Amanda and Andrew LaCroix and their children, Samrita Lohani and Mike Laughlin, and Andrea Parsons and their children.

And like all families when they get together, everyone shared about their sponsored children.  Each person in attendance introduced themselves and then talked about the child they sponsored, in some cases telling stories and showing pictures like a proud parent.  Our sponsors not only provide education and medical care, but also genuine caring and a connection to another person and family, half-way across the world.

We are grateful to our sponsors and warmly welcome our newest members and their families.  We hope to see you again soon!
