The Early Children of Mitrata

Mitrata Nepal Foundation for Children was born from Dr. Christine Schutz’s heart for the children of Nepal. Now, as we look back on the past 20 years, we see many familiar faces of our first sponsored children, though they are now young adults. These early children have now completed the program, graduated, and are working in their chosen career fields. Keep reading to hear the stories of nine of Mitrata’s early children and where they are now.

Since Mitrata’s beginning in 2002, we have been able to see 52 students graduate. These students have been able to find employment and begin supporting themselves. Graduated students who live in the Kathmandu area are often involved in our Alumni program and volunteer their free time working with, and encouraging, our Contact Center students. Former students who live in other areas of the country, or even around the world, often keep in touch and regularly share life updates. We are so proud of all our students and love being able to see all their accomplishments!
