Sponsoring Fun!

Mitrata-Nepal Foundation for Children’s main focus is education. BUT, it is not our only focus. We follow a “Holistic Approach” that strives to address every need each child in our program is facing. Outside of education, this approach also includes nutrition, healthcare, housing, and counseling. With all those very important needs, one aspect of a child’s wellbeing that could be overlooked is FUN!

We believe fun is one of the most important aspects of a well-rounded childhood, so Mitrata and our NGO partner in Nepal, Bhuvaneshwori Satyal Foundation (BSF), make an effort to never leave out fun extracurricular activities. These experiences allow the children a chance to feel like just that - children!

This summer, the BSF staff, and a few volunteering older students took the Contact Center children on a fun and educational field trip to the Kathmandu Zoo.

Both the children and the staff had a blast seeing and learning about the various animals!

The day would have never been complete without a lunch of momos (a steamed dumpling, and a favorite food for many of the children) and ice cream cones for dessert!
