Meet Our Board Committees!
The Mitrata Board now includes 8 committees with over 20 members! Our Board is vital to guiding the future growth of our organization and the execution of our multi-year strategic plan. We have enjoyed incredible Board retention and engagement throughout our organization’s history and supporting each committee’s goal into our larger strategic objectives is vital to fostering our continued success. Board Development
This committee plays an integral role in helping our board grow and in helping us function as cohesively and effectively as possible through education and establishing rules and standards for the Board. Their goals for 2022 include empowering our Board members to recruit new committee members and to leverage their professional and social networks to help inspire new volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for Mitrata.
Finance
In order to support future growth for Mitrata, the Finance Committee will be evaluating their role in our future strategic plans, including by developing a multi-year financial plan, designing an annual report based around our Scholarship Fund program, expanding ways for our supporters to donate, and by recruiting two new members!
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee is gearing up to support our organizations’ continued growth in events. In 2022, they will be brainstorming new opportunities, while continuing to accomodate any COVID-19 restrictions. Further, the committee will be focused on growing our active volunteer base!
Sponsorship
This committee exists to help Mitrata execute a major part of our work: our sponsorship program. Creating lasting relationships between sponsors, their sponsored children, and our organization is integral to our success, and the Sponsorship Committee fosters these efforts by hosting get-togethers and conducting outreach to the community, as in through our new website sponsorship pages. As our Contact Center and programs continue to develop and expand, so will our need for more sponsors.
Operations
Operations is the major way that Mitrata staff participate in the board process. This year, we have goals to add new staff (coming soon!), expand and assess our digital and physical office space assets, create systems to better track key metrics, and execute a special celebration in Mitrata’s history coming later in 2022.
Digital Media
Digital Media is the committee that works to promote Mitrata’s digital assets, including the effective use of our website and social media platforms for guiding those new to our organization through our history and mission and marketing our fundraising events. Along these lines, the committee’s goals including developing a social media improvement plan, executing a website overhaul, creating better infrastructure for educating our donors, and increasing flexibility in our event fundraising.
Executive
The Executive Committee has defined several strong goals for 2022, including: supporting our advisory board, Contact Center expansion project, and friend-raising efforts. All of these goals will bring us closer to a successful execution of our strategic plan.
Young Professionals Board
The Young Professionals Board is our newest committee and is growing quickly, having already added one new member in 2022! YPB is designed for those early in their careers with little to no Board experience looking to give back. Their goals for this year include hosting a brand new awareness event this fall, increasing our reach on social media, and bolstering the committee itself through creating marketing materials and discussing future growth plans.
