Mitrata’s commitment to growing and developing the communities where we work, and empowering our children and their families in a thoughtful, holistic way begins with expanding our Contact Center program.

Our Contact Center is a successful school readiness program recognized in Nepal as unique and effective in serving underprivileged children, at-risk for child labor, children with parents who are itinerant workers, and children not enrolled in school because their parents cannot afford the cost. These children are behind in grades, lack school-readiness skills, and are neglected and malnourished, all interfering with their ability to learn and succeed academically.

Please join us in providing the children at the Contact Center with comprehensive healthcare checkups, dental procedures, pairs of glasses, and a much-loved Contact Center field trip to the Kathmandu Zoo, including pizza and ice cream.

HEALTHCARE CHECKUPS FOR OUR CONTACT CENTER CHILDREN

Our Contact Center children receive annual comprehensive healthcare checkups, dental care, braces, vaccinations, and glasses. Surgeries or unexpected health issues are also covered through our programs. The children we serve normally do not have access to health care, as poor families have no free option and are often unable to pay for medications or care. Our NGO partner, BSF’s, staff are often busy taking our children to doctor appointments. These items are important to ensure our children are healthy and can concentrate and succeed in school.

Need #2:

ZOO FIELD TRIP, PIZZA PARTY & ICE CREAM

This Fall, we want to host the biggest pizza/momo party, ice cream social, and field trip to the Kathmandu Zoo for our Contact Center kids yet, taking all children from both Contact Centers. Pizza and momos are very rare and costly treats for our children, parents, and teachers. (Momos are a delicious dumpling that are either steamed or fried and stuffed with vegetables or meat.)

Additionally, every year during our sponsor trip, the trip attendees accompany our Contact Center children to the Kathmandu Zoo or Fun Park. It is a time of joy and laughter for our Sponsors and Children as they take in the sights, and spend time with one another.
