Thank You to Our Climbers & Rope Leaders
We are so grateful to our 14 climbers and two rope leaders, Mark, Ambrose, Len, Anna, Steve, Nichole, Sean, Duane, Tuney, Victor, Dan, Monica, Dinesh, Don, Ken, and Paul, who fundraised for us this year. Altogether, they raised over $20,000 at the conclusion of our annual Climb for Himalayan Children on Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker in Washington State. We're so thankful to everyone who volunteered their time to make this happen and to the climbers and their friends and families who supported them on these physically and mentally challenging ascents.
The Climb helps to fund our Contact Center program for children aged 3-10 years old, who are provided an educational foundation in a nurturing, loving environment, similar to the Montessori model. Enrollment in the Center averages 28 students. The children enter at the preschool level, are taught basic skills, including reading, writing and an introduction to English. They are also provided with hygiene education, healthcare and two high-quality protein-rich meals each day.
