Contact Center Singing and Dancing
On Friday, we visited our Contact Center, where Mitrata and BSF provide early childhood development, hygiene and nutrition education, school readiness, and healthcare, for approximately 30 children in the Kathmandu area. Upon graduation and with the help of our sponsors, many of them are ready to begin third grade in local schools.
We were treated to five wonderful dance performances by the children, highlighted by one featuring Sangeeta Shrestha, an older Mitrata student who volunteers at the Center. The children particularly look forward to visits from Mitrata sponsors as it gives them an opportunity to dance, sing, ask us questions and play games with us. Ranging in age from two to nine, they are learning English and math (in both Nepali and English) amazingly well. An often asked question........"how old are you"?
