Coming Up: Mitrata’s Annual Holiday Bazaar!

We know, a blog about the Holiday Bazaar may seem out of place right now. Holiday shopping is still ages away isn’t it? Although you may not want to hear it, Christmas is TWO months away! That means it’s time to start thinking about gifts for your holiday celebrations! This year, our Annual Holiday Bazaar is finally back in-person!

Our last in-person Holiday Bazaar was in 2019!

Be sure to save-the-date now, and join us on December 3 & 4, 2022 to shop a beautiful selection of Nepali items that we have chosen specifically for you- our wonderful Mitrata supporters!

Some of the items will be ordered in advance, but because we are once again able to travel to Nepal, many of the items will be hand-selected in Nepal by our Executive Director Dr. Christine Schutz, and wonderful Board member Stephanie Recht! No matter if the items were hand-selected or ordered in advance, we purchase only from local artisans and vendors in Nepal with fair-trade policies. We have trusted these Nepali vendors over the years for their quality and skill.

This year, we will have a large selection of items including felt items, jewelry, pashmina ponchos, silk scarves, and more!

Felt Items

These cute felt items are just a taste of the variety of items we will have available. Felt items make great gifts for the little ones in your family, or simply just wonderful decorations.

We will also have felt holiday decor available, such as Christmas tree ornaments or decorative garlands. These adorable snowman Christmas tree ornaments were one of the items we had available in the past. You can definitely expect to find something you will love in the felt section!

Jewelry

We will have a large selection of beautiful, silver jewelry available. There will be many different kinds of jewelry to choose from including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets! You’re sure to find the jewelry-lover in your life something special!

Pashmina and Silk Items

You won’t want to miss out on these gorgeous garments! Pashmina and Silk scarves and ponchos make the perfect gifts, but don’t blame us if you leave with some for yourself as well! Pashmina is the Nepali term for cashmere, and it’s just as soft as you can imagine. The bright embroidered silk is sure to catch your eye!

Traditional Nepali Items

On top of all the other amazing items, we will also have the more traditional items such as singing bowls and brass statues. These beautifully crafted items are the perfect conversation starters to display in your home. They are the perfect excuse to talk about Mitrata with your loved ones this upcoming holiday season.

These are just a few of the amazing items that will be available. Be sure to stop by on December 3rd or 4th to check out the rest!

We can’t wait to see you there!
