The plight of children in Nepal is desperate. Many are without food, on the streets and/or unable to go to school because they are too poor. Fifty percent of the children are malnourished and only a quarter of them live with adequate sanitation. There are 2.6 million child laborers in Nepal.

Medical care is often nonexistent and many children do not attend school at all or drop out before finishing high school equivalent. Due to the increasingly economy and devastating effects of the recent political conflict and civil war, there are more children without parents to care for them.

The needs of children are great in Nepal and there is much to do to help. The Mitrata motto is “Children First, They are our Future”. Please join the Mitrata family and help save the life of a child in Nepal. You can truly make a difference!

We are blessed to have a group of individuals who not only believe in the mission of Mitrata, but expand our efforts by opening their hearts and lifting their hands to support us. Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are the biggest force at Mitrata that drive our mission to life. We are always in need of volunteers who add an essence to our work. If you are an individual with legal, publicity, marketing or other skills/services, we need you. Come volunteer and make a difference in the life of a child! Mitrata is involved in a variety of events to raise funds for the children in need. We need volunteers to make these events successful.
